An additional two individuals are now in custody in connection with a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which 21 people were injured by a substance believed to be pepper spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area on suspicion of theft and assault and a woman, 23 was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, the force said.

The arrests follow a probe into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the incident, two women were robbed of their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was one of the injured during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and have since been released.

Police detained a 31-year-old man on suspicion of robbery and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Authorities were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding several individuals injured by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.

The assault - which police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park briefly.
